About

The First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield closed its doors after its last service on April 24, 2022. The church is 148 years old and has a long-standing history in our community. The church building is older than both the Adair County Courthouse and Warren Opera House. Ownership was transferred to the Greater Greenfield Community Foundation in hopes it can continue to serve the community for years to come. The building comes with an endowment fund which will take care of maintenance, upkeep, and expenses for years to come. Now the space is a free-to-use site for civic organization meetings, youth organization meetings, and nonprofits and is also available to reserve for weddings, funerals, reunions, and other events. As well as housing the Hygiene Pantry. The building and its functions are overseen by two advisory committees: the giving committee and the building committee. These committees, respectively, carry out charitable giving inspired by the First Presbyterians Church's history of giving and maintain and update the building.
